The Squid
Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11:03PM This fall I will be exhibiting an outdoor sculpture in New Bedford’s National Historic Park. I was one of seven sculptors asked to participate in this show. My sculpture will be prominently displayed on the façade of the Whaling Museum. The sculpture that I will be making is a giant squid that is attacking the museum itself. This is a pun based on stories of epic battles between squid and whales. I will be posting the progress of the sculpture here as well as on my facebook page.
This was one of the many preliminary studies that I did to learn about the squids anatomy.

This is the Maquette that I made for the sculpture. The action figure (Golden-Age Flash) represents a six foot tall person.
